ACRECONF India 2012 will have architect Alfredo Munoz as international lecturer

Gathering together on January 12-13 some of the greatest architecture and engineering names present in India like HOK, AECOM, SOM, ABIBOO Architecture or L&T among others.

ACRECONF, international conference organized by Delhi Chapter of ISHRAE in association with ASHRAE India Chapter, will be held on January 12-13 2012. The venue of this event will be the emblematic India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, India.


This coming year the subject of the conference returns to the origins of the universe, reviving the Mother Nature through the continuous improvement of design in all types of buildings. This lecture series started in 2001. The first edition counted already with 200 delegations and 25 technical presentations over the two day event.

The evolution of ACRECONF has been exponential, getting on the 2010 edition, a total of 1,900 technical papers and 98 delegations of the highest quality worldwide.

For the upcoming event to be held in mid-January of 2012, international architect Alfredo Munoz, president of ABIBOO Architecture, has been invited as a lecturer, sharing papers with other international firms that are designing the global contemporary architectural space, like Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), HOK or ACOM among others.

During the past 15 years, Alfredo Munoz worked for several architectural firms of international repute in Europe, Middle East, USA and Asia, occupying senior management and design positions of high responsibility. These experiences led Alfredo Munoz to finally establish the international firm ABIBOO Architecture (http://www.abiboo.com/) with headquarters in Spain, USA and India and are currently developing projects in Spain, Norway, Sweden, Peru, USA, Taiwan, Vietnam and India.

On this occasion, Alfredo Munoz, as guest speaker, will address the Taiwan Tower designed by ABIBOO team, along with OODA-OOIIO as an example of new creative processes. This presentation is part of the exclusive section of Tall Buildings (Session D) to be held the first day of lectures, January 12.
The ABIBOO Architecture team was inspired in structures, shapes, materials, and spirit, with the intention of creating a pioneer and innovative design concept for the construction of the Tower of Taiwan.

In the same line of work, taking a look at the latest designs developed by ABIBOO Architecture we can see how the processes of innovation are having a successful impact on the final construction.

Alfredo Munoz continues today touring the world managing ABIBOO Architecture projects, increasing their anthropological knowledge and implementing, together with his team, new creative processes that improve the quality of life of mankind.

Reuniendo el 12 y 13 de enero a algunas de las firmas más importantes de arquitectura e ingeniería presentes en India como HOK, AECOM, SOM, ABIBOO Architecture o L&T entre otros

ACRECONF, conferencia internacional organizada por Delhi Chapter of ISHRAE en asociación con ASHRAE India Chapter, se extenderá durante los días, 12 y 13 de enero de 2012. El lugar de celebración de este evento será el emblemático India Habitat Centre, en New Delhi, India.

Este próximo año el tema objeto de la conferencia vuelve a los orígenes del universo, reviviendo a la madre naturaleza a través de la constante mejora del diseño en todo tipo de edificaciones. Este ciclo de conferencias se inauguró en el año 2001. Esta primera edición contó ya con 200 delegaciones y 25 ponencias técnicas a lo largo de los 2 días del evento.

La evolución de ACRECONF ha sido exponencial, habiendo conseguido durante la edición de 2010 un total de 1.900 delegaciones y 98 ponencias técnicas de la más alta calidad a nivel mundial.

Para este próximo ciclo a celebrar a mediados de enero de 2012 se ha invitado como ponente al arquitecto internacional Alfredo Muñoz, como presidente de ABIBOO Architecture, compartiendo ponencias con otros estudios internacionales que están diseñando el espacio arquitectónico contemporáneo global como Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), HOK o ACOM entre otros.

Durante los últimos 15 años, Alfredo Muñoz trabajó para diversos estudios de arquitectura de prestigio internacional en Europa, Oriente Medio, USA y Asia en puestos de alta responsabilidad de gestión y diseño. Estas experiencias llevaron a Alfredo Munoz a fundar la firma internacional ABIBOO Architecture (http://www.abiboo.com/) con sedes en España, USA e India y a desarrollar proyectos en España, Noruega, Suecia, Perú, USA, Taiwán, Vietnam e India.

En esta ocasión, Alfredo Muñoz, y como conferenciante invitado, abordará la Torre de Taiwán diseñada por el equipo de ABIBOO, junto con OODA-OOIIO, como ejemplo de nuevos procesos creativos. Dicha presentación forma parte del apartado exclusivo de Tall Buildings (Sesión D) a celebrar el primer día de conferencias, 12 de enero.

El equipo ABIBOO Architecture se inspiró en estructuras, formas, materiales y en espíritu con la intención de crear un concepto de diseño pionero e innovador para la construcción de esta Torre de Taiwán.

En la misma línea de trabajo si miramos a los últimos diseños que ABIBOO Architecture está desarrollando se puede comprobar cómo la innovación en los procesos está teniendo un impacto exitoso en las construcciones finales.

ABIBOO Architecture designs Thandalam, building combining residences with studios and facilities in India

ABIBOO Architecture, international architecture office led by Alfredo Munoz, has been developing for months the Thandalam Project, a residential complex near Chennai, southern India, consisting of about 700 homes and studios, the latter of them intended for students of a nearby university.



The project will also consist of a series of facilities to give service to the residences, as well as vast green areas which will join an urban park also planned by Abiboo Architecture in the same parcel, as Indian law requires.

The project combines a number of independent blocks, articulated in two areas defined by the presence of an existing power line tower on the site, which becomes the structuring element of a large linear eco-park with innovative elements of alternative energy, and that turns out to be protagonist of the project.

The residences are arranged in separate blocks but interconnected by towers that narrow, elongate, break and change their configuration, creating spaces of social interaction with different character that in turn maintain their relationships with the numerous green spaces provided in order to create a healthy living environment.

These independent blocks are pieces that break and fragment, playing with the lights and shadows and adapting the homes to the harsh local climatic conditions, and offering as well a glimpse of the complex inner world of the corridors where color has a notorious presence.

ABIBOO Architecture, conducts with this project a research on domestic space in India through a deep analysis of its culture and its complex philosophies, applied to define their homes (criteria marked by the Vastu standards, philosophy similar to Feng Shui).

The projected residences after this analytical exercise, added to previous research on contemporary housing as well as to the long experience in building in the Western world and to the international experience accumulated by the studio, are the design tools that mainly respond to the needs of its future inhabitants.

ABIBOO Architecture diseña Thandalam Project, edificio mixto con viviendas, estudios y equipamientos en India

ABIBOO Architecture, oficina de arquitectura internacional dirigida por Alfredo Muñoz, desarrolla desde hace meses el Thandalam Project, un complejo residencial cercano a Chennai, al sur de India, que consta de unas 700 viviendas y estudios, éstos últimos destinados a los estudiantes de una universidad cercana.



El proyecto constará, además, de una serie de equipamientos para dar servicio a todas las viviendas, así como de amplias zonas verdes que se unirán a un parque urbano proyectado también por ABIBOO Architecture en la misma parcela, tal y como establece la ley de la India.

El proyecto conjuga una serie de bloques independientes que se articulan entre sí en dos áreas definidas por la presencia de una torre y línea eléctrica existente en el solar que se convierte en el elemento configurador de un gran eco-parque lineal con elementos innovadores de energía alternativa que acaba siendo el protagonista del proyecto.

Las viviendas se organizan en bloques independientes pero con interconexiones puntuales formadas por torres que se estrechan, alargan, rompen y cambian su configuración provocando espacios de interacción social de diferente carácter que a su vez mantienen relación con los múltiples espacios verdes proporcionados para crear un entorno sano y habitable.

Los bloques independientes son piezas que se descomponen y fragmentan, construyendo un juego de luces y sombras que permite adecuar las viviendas a las duras condiciones climatológicas del lugar y deja entrever el complejo mundo interior de los corredores donde el color tiene una fuerte presencia.

ABIBOO Architecture, realiza con este proyecto un proceso de investigación del espacio doméstico en India a través de un profundo análisis de su cultura y de las complejas filosofías que se aplican a la hora de definir sus viviendas (criterios que marca el Vastu, filosofía similar al Feng Shui).

Las viviendas proyectadas tras este ejercicio analítico sumado a las investigaciones previas realizadas sobre vivienda contemporánea, así como a la larga experiencia acumulada en el mundo occidental en construcción y la experiencia internacional que atesora el estudio, son las herramientas principales de diseño que dan respuesta a las necesidades de sus futuros habitantes.
